  7. You Shall Go No...

“YOU SHALL GO NO MORE”

Description: This is an aria from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera “The Marriage of Figaro”, composed in 1786. Arias are used in opera to convey a character’s emotional reaction to situations and serve as an opportunity for the singer to display their talent. The Marriage of Figaro is about a “day of madness” in the palace of Count Almaviva. The plot is twisting and filled with intrigue, scheming and mistaken identity. In this aria the title character, Figaro, teases the count’s page, Cherubino, about the bleak future of this social life when he enters the military.  You performance can be quite cheeky!
