“SCARBOROUGH FAIR”
Description: This piece is a traditional English ballad and tells the story of a man who sends a message to his former love instructing her to complete a series of impossible tasks. If she completes these tasks then she will again be his “true love”. It is sometimes performed as a vocal duet with a female singer responding to the male singer’s demands. Perform it “with a gentle lilt”. Make the piano sing the melody and aim for a gentle, elegant sound.
