“THE GALWAY PIPER”

Description: This well-known piece is a traditional Irish folk song. It is not known exactly when it was written but its earliest publication dates back to 1740. The song tells of Piping Tim of Galway, a famous bagpiper who “every person in the nation, or of great or humble station, hold in highest estimation” (this is the first line from the song). Play it with a happy, jaunty feel.

Level: Late Elementary (what does this mean?)
