Description: This epic piece, first published in “Scenes of Childhood”, can be played as part of the “Conquering Time and Space” suite with Astral Air. If you are playing the two pieces as a suite, perform Fortress March, continue on to Astral Air but keep the sustain pedal down until the first pedal change in Astral Air. After completing Astral Air, repeat Fortress March. This piece features a 4/4 time signature, D major, a moderate tempo, use of the sustain pedal, a wide dynamic range and highly descriptive playing.
