Hugo Reinhold (1854–1935) was an Austrian composer and pianist, known primarily for his piano music, though he also composed orchestral and chamber works. He studied at the Vienna Conservatory under notable teachers such as Anton Bruckner and Julius Epstein. Reinhold’s compositions are rooted in the Romantic tradition, characterized by lyrical melodies and clear formal structures. Though not as widely known today, Reinhold’s contributions to the piano repertoire reflect the elegance and musicality of late 19th-century Viennese composition.
I have chosen the six pieces that I consider to be the “best” for this collection. These engaging pieces make superb concert repertoire.
